Blaze
He went on a ride in a car engine
Was scared out by a vacuum cleaner
Brought home in box that was put back outside
Was spoiled the next day with a thousand dollars worth of stuff
Brought inside in his new crate
Given a bath right away
Ate some kitten food
Explored his new surroundings
Named Blaze
Cried before bed until the lights all went out
Woke up and played with his new family
Saw the doctor, clean bill of health
Went to the park
Brought back home
Loves boxes to sleep in
Kept indoors, did want him to run away
Taught to keep off counter tops
Likes to sit on the windowsill to look outside
Took lots of pictures, very photogenic
Loves to play with the feather on the stick
Generally friendly with everyone
Moved crate into bedroom
Growing at a steady rate
Develops an attitude all his own
Sleeps on little big sister’s chest
Painful crystals, back to the doctor
Medicine to make it all better
Now weary of doctors
Indoor outdoor, enjoys the sun
Climbs up onto the roof multiple times
Doesn’t know how to get back down
Father gets the ladder and brings him down
He figured it out a few times after
Likes chasing birds and eating chicks
Catches a mouse more than once
Good boy, good little brother
Made a friend named Tygr
Or rather more like an enemy at first
Sleeps on my bed during the day
Sits on the windowsill at night
Alerts father that the water was overflowing from the washing machine
Very attentive and alert
Doesn’t like baths
Sleeps around the house
Likes to stay inside after the morning
Older sister leaves
Plays with Tygr
Sleeps during the day
and sometimes during the night
Wakes up at 5 am to eat
or to just go outside
Has his special cry, not a meow
Sits on mother’s lap and purrs loudly
Keeps father company
Little big sister sings songs and talks to him
Weary of the new dog, Bully
Is annoyed with Bully and his non stop howling
Stays in the house more
Taunts dog in the backyard
Eats outside with Tygr
Gets treats almost every evening
Little big sister leaves
He is lonely without little big
Looks for little big everyday
Sleeps on little big’s bed
Listens for little big’s voice when she calls
Stays outside more with Tygr
Sits on mother and father’s lap and purrs loudly
Sleeps outside at night
Comes inside in the mornings to greet mother and ask for food
Takes care of his home
Looks out for intruders
Little big sister comes home
Very happy to see her
Sniffs her bags
Sleeps in her bags
Plays rough house like normal with little big
Sleeps on little big’s pillow at night
Listens to little big
Is carried by little big
Little big packs to go away again, very angry
Little big says goodbye and leaves again
Very sad
Gets to see little big a few times a year
Catches a bird, gets scolded
Bird in cage in house
Noisy bird in cage, noise keeps him out
Bird leaves house
House back to normal
Gets to see little big again
Little big leaves again
See’s older sister multiple times a year
Not the same
Hears little big’s voice on the phone: super excited
Where is little big?
Sad when he can’t find her
Gets sick one day, goes to the vet
Diagnosed with cancer, drained fluid
Home to recover
Feeling a little better
Returning to old self
Couple days later…
Not feeling too well
Can’t get up
In lots of pain
Back to the doctor
Father is calmly stroking his head
He knows he is not alone
He goes to sleep for the final time
Good night little brother, you will be missed. Your little big cries for you tonight as you slumber peacefully. I wish I could have been there for you. It was a good seven plus years of love and companionship that you have given our family. We love you and will miss you. You will be remembered in our hearts forever.
